English & Communication, Foreign Languages, Religion & Philosophy, History and Music compose the Department of Humanities and Fine Arts.   HFA offers four majors--English Literary Arts or Communication Arts, History, and Music Education--and five minors--Professional Writing, English, History, Music, African American Studies and Religious Studies. 

HFA sponsors an array of student organizations and activities, in and out of the classroom, including Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Quiet Storm Poets, HT Film Society, and a vibrant schedule of field trips, theater, poetry and musical performances, readings and discussions by authors, filmmakers and photographers, and an ongoing foreign language and cultural arts gallery in the lobby of Jackson-Moody.  

Faculty in the Department of Humanities and Fine Arts are scholars, artists, teachers and researchers who bring expansive and diverse fields of knowledge and experience in the humanities and fine arts.
