The HT Quiet Storm Poets meet regularly to discuss and practice poetry and spoken word.  At weekly meetings open to all interested in poetry and spoken word, the QS poets go over new pieces, work on generative exercises and offer one another helpful feedback and tips on performance and composition.  The Quiet Storm Poets invite all poets and spoken word artists and those interested in poetry including students,  faculty, staff and alumni.

Much in demand, the Quiet Storm Poets opened for Nikki Giovanni at HT in October 2007, performed in a special showcase at Ruta Maya during Austin International Poetry Festival in April 2008, have featured in PACT Television's East by Southeast Poetry Showcase, and most recently were showcased in a Borderlands Community of Poets event at Barnes and Nobles in Austin.
