Portia Scott has worked with youth in various learning settings for nearly 20 years. Mrs. Scott’s teaching experience includes courses taught not only at Huston-Tillotson University,  but also at a business college and adult ESL in a community setting.  She has guided young people at all levels: elementary, middle school, high school, and currently in higher education.  She earned an advanced degree from Texas State University in Developmental and Adult Education.  Her future plans include continued work on inspirational reading materials for youth and adults.  Ms. Scott continues to share her view of the importance of education by speaking in public, educational, and community sponsored events.
