I am excited to be at Huston-Tillotson University as an Assistant Professor of English. I completed my M.A. in Composition and Rhetoric at Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi. While at Washington State University, I completed my Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric. In my graduate studies, I focused on the ways in which students’ social experiences clash with academic culture and affect students in the writing classroom.
When not at HT, I enjoy spending time with my husband, cat and dog and I crochet. I also spend time working on scholarship regarding subjects such as Working Class history, literature, and nonfiction.
The primary courses I teach are Freshman English courses like Foundations of College Reading and Writing, Introduction to Composition, and College Rhetoric and Composition. I also teach the occasional upper level writing course such as Advanced Rhetoric and Argumentation.
